Due to popular demand and to continue our social outreach to the cultural community, we are hosting our Introduction to the Protection of Cultural Venues (CPD Certified) programme for delegates interested in or working in the cultural sector. After completing the programme, delegates will understand the threats that exist within the cultural sector, how they manifest themselves, and the steps that should be taken to reduce the risks they may face.

Our team have delivered Cultural Protection Training to thousands of delegates during online and in-person sessions. The demand for training has drastically increased following the increased presence of protesters, concerns regarding climate change, war and conflict, and the often forgotten insider threat that operates in museums, galleries, and other cultural venues.

This programme covers the five areas listed below:

1. Understanding Adversarial Threats

People are exposed to a wide range of threats on a daily basis. Understanding what threats exist is important to determine the levels of risk that can impact individuals or organisations.

2. Attack Methodologies

Attacks do not just happen! There is normally a series of stages that occur before, during, and post any attack. Understanding how they happen allows greater opportunities to avoid becoming a victim.

3. Situational Awareness

This section outlines how to improve and develop situational awareness skills so that potentially harmful situations are proactively identified and avoided. It highlights the benefits of analysing and responding to what your senses or the environment are telling you.

4. Surveillance Detection

The surveillance of people, places, vehicles, and venues is carried out more than we think. Delegates will begin to understand the different types of surveillance and how to spot them.

5. Effective Operational Practices

Delegates will understand the importance of effective operational practices and why they should be considered to ensure cultural property is kept safe and secure.
