Door Supervisor Training in the North West

During the last week in January, Trident Manor Training Academy travelled to Preston, North West of England to deliver the Highfield accredited Level 2 – Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry programme.

The programme was delivered over 6 days and allowed non-existing licence holders to obtain an SIA Door Supervisors licence upon successfully completing the course.

The group were taught the 4 main units, Working in the Private Security Industry, Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry, Applications of Conflict Management and Physical Intervention. The programme is both theoretical and practical as each learner had to demonstrate a series of physical intervention scenarios where different holds, communication skills and responses are required to ensure the safety and security of customers are prioritised

The role of a Door Supervisor can be challenging and requires additional skills such as situational awareness and the ability to control a conflict situation. On the job, you will have to engage with different people and control different situations which could place you as the victim.

It is essential that those wanting to hold an SIA licence undergo accredited training to obtain their licence and begin working in the industry. Those who already have an SIA licence but is due for renewal will have to complete the Level 2 Door Supervisor Top-Up training programme. This allows you to renew your existing SIA licence and to continue working as a Door Supervisor.
